Re_Reading / Books

Three Writers to re_think : fRom Object to Networks, fRom consumption to Culture.

Neil Gaiman, Bruce Sterling & William Gibson have developped in their last Books a visionnary anticipation paradoxically registered in the present.

With Pattern Recognition, William Gibson developped a critical vision of our object world in a thriller that enclosed Cayce Pollard in an investigation. Networks, Hacking, videos, subculture are the elements of a new mapping of our real world in real virtualities.

With American Gods, Neil Gaiman (Sandman) has created a new spatio-temporal critical fiction.

With Shaping Things, Bruce sterling proposes to 'tear into the world of artifice… revolutionize the interplay of human and object…rip root and branch into the previous industrial base and re-invent it, re-build it'

Project : Tune Me

Tune Me is an immersive conceptual radio based upon tactile features. The sound (as well as the visual) is triggered by a number of 'touchy' interfaces. The visitors enter the ellipse-shaped space, immersing themselves in a new world where to listen to the radio waves. In this extent Tune Me is a representation of the ambient radio of the near future. As well as the sound, each channel provides light features as well as vibrating and pulsing experience. When choosing the different FM stations, the overall space changes, defining different moods upon the nature of the different content.

daz_surfaceactive#0_globalflat_Paris

GlobalFlat has been realised in Paris and is one of the first experiment of [daz[ developped in a Typical Haussmanian Housing from the beginning of XXth Century.
GlobalFlat is based on the dematerialization of the existing typologies as a process to create new living Territories in relations to unstable surfaces that organised soundscapes, videoandmoviescapes, lightscapes with interactive parameters.
The traditional hierarchy has disappeared so the functions, the privacy and the relations between inhabitants are re-defined by the interaction of their movements.
The materials as Diffusing polycarbonate, Fluorescent movingtrackstable, integrated speakers, beamer, Internet connection increase the flowing spatiality that characterised GlobalFlat.
GlobalFlat developed new sensitive experiments in a loop strategy.

[dAZ[ is a studio of Architecture & Design founded in 2000 by Nicola Borg-Pisani and Anne Wolff and based in Paris.
[dAZ[ explores and experiments the potentialities of Active Surfaces within the development of diagrammatic process.
The strategy that [dAZ[ develops is linked to the program, the economy, the site, the technologies and the client as parameters that can produce new Realities, new Relations and to generate new shape in a non-formal process.
So the Form is neither an a-priori nor an a-posteriori.
[dAZ[ try to produce new territories where the body and the matter are interfaced to create reactive, sensitive and intimate relations.
[daz[ has developed its practice in a multi-scale level as urban projects, Domestic landscapes, Exhibition Installations and furniture.
